General Description
S-Carbomethyl-L-cysteine, with the molecular formula C₅H₉NO₄S and CAS number 638-23-3, is a white crystalline powder that is soluble in water. Mainly used in the field of medicine.
S-Carboxymethyl-L-cysteine, as an expectorant and treatment for chronic bronchitis, can reduce sputum viscosity and promote the clearance of respiratory secretions. In addition, it can be used as an antioxidant in the food industry and for moisturizing and anti-aging purposes in cosmetics.
