RGES Peptide | Omizzur 

RGES (sequence: Arg-Gly-Glu-Ser ) is an RGD-related peptide that controls the inhibitory activity of RGDS on the binding of fibrinogen to activated platelets.

RGES-Fibronectin Inhibitor

The RGDS peptide is the conserved tetrapeptide sequence Arg-Gly-Asp-Ser (RGDS) found on fibronectin, fibrinogen alpha, and von Willebrand factor. Binds to integrins on the cell surface. Inhibits thrombin-induced binding of platelets to fibronectin, fibrinogen alpha and von Willebrand factor.

RGES in Vivo Studies

Arg-Gly-Glu-Ser (5 mg/kg) combined with LPS or saline + RGDS did not affect the number of neutrophils and macrophages, compared with LPS or saline treated mice, had no effect on protein accumulation has no effect.

RGES Animal Experiments

Mice performed mouse pharyngeal aspiration in the assay. Animals were anesthetized with a mixture of ketamine and xylazine (45 mg/kg and 8 mg/kg, ip, respectively). A test solution (30 μL) containing LPS (1.5 mg/kg) was placed at the back of the throat and inhaled into the lungs. Control mice were given sterile saline (0.9% NaCl). Animals were administered RGDS or Arg-Gly-Glu-Ser peptide (1, 2.5 or 5 mg/kg, ip) 1 h before LPS treatment and sacrificed 4 h after LPS.

Animals were also administered RGDS or Arg-Gly-Glu-Ser peptide (5 mg/kg, ip) once at different time points (1 h before or 2 h after LPS treatment) and sacrificed 24 h after LPS. In addition, animals were administered αvβ3-blocking mAb, anti-αv or anti-β3 (5 mg/kg, ip) 1 h before and sacrificed 4 h after LPS. Animals administered these mAbs 2 hours after LPS treatment were sacrificed 24 hours after LPS.
