Somatostatin (SST) is a neuromodulatory peptide that inhibits the secretion of growth hormone from the pituitary gland. Different drugs with research significance and therapeutic effects can be obtained by modifying SST by different methods. Compared with natural somatostatin, the synthetic somatostatin analog vapretide has a long biological half-life, is easy to use, has extensive anti-tumor effects, and has less toxic and side effects, so it can play a better anti-tumor effect. Vapreotide is a cyclic octapeptide somatostatin analog with an intramolecular disulfide bond. The somatostatin analog has almost no dose-limiting toxicity and has a certain antitumor effect. Compared with somatostatin, vaprotide has higher metabolic stability and greatly prolonged biological half-life (90min). Vaprotide is the first somatostatin analog to show the effect of treating acute variceal hemorrhage. A number of Phase III clinical trials are underway, including the treatment of prostate cancer and acromegaly.

Omizzur uses peptide solid-phase synthesis + microwave technology to improve the coupling efficiency and yield of vapretide. Through microwave reaction, the amount of protected amino acid is reduced to an excess of 1 times (the ratio of the amount of protected amino acid to the number of moles of solid-phase synthetic resin in the conventional peptide reaction is: 3 times, the yield of vaprotide increased from 48% in conventional synthesis to 76%. At the same time, Omizzur supplies various vaprotide impurities for scientific research.

It is valid for at least one year if stored at -20 ℃ or lower. Since each freezing and thawing of polypeptide will cause partial inactivation, after the storage solution with corresponding concentration is prepared for the first time (please prepare the storage solution according to the information in the column of reconstitution in the product introduction), it must be frozen at -20 ℃ or lower after sub packaging to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

Matters Needing Attention:

This product is freeze-dried powder. Since a small amount of polypeptide is deposited in the tube during the freeze-drying process, forming a very thin or invisible polypeptide layer, before opening the tube cover, we recommend centrifuging about 8000-12000g in a centrifuge for 10-30 seconds to make the polypeptide attached to the tube cover or tube wall gather at the bottom of the tube.
