General Description
Fmoc-α-Me-Leu-OH full name is N-[(9H-fluorene-9-ylmethoxy)carbonyl]-2-methyl-L-leucine. Simply, it's leucine with a methyl group added to the α-position, and the amino terminus is protected by an Fmoc group. Its molecular formula is C22H25NO4, and its molecular weight is approximately 367.44. It is a solid powder at room temperature.
Main uses:
Its most common application is in solid-phase peptide synthesis, especially in scenarios where methylated amino acids are needed to enhance peptide stability. It is also a raw material for the synthesis of novel peptide drugs such as Retatrutide, which has applications in the field of metabolic regulation.
