What is Semaglutide?

Semalutide, developed by Novo Nordisk, was initially designed as a powerful and lasting subcutaneous injection anti diabetes drug, with the frequency of once a week to improve convenience. Semaglutide was approved for market by the FDA in December 2017, and is the seventh globally approved GLP-1RA after exenatide, liraglutide, abiglutide, dulaglutide, linaglutide, and benarutide.

Lys26 was modified with the synthesized fatty chain acylating agent under alkaline conditions to obtain Semaglutide. The biological activity of the self-made sample was determined by time-resolved fluorescence resonance energy transfer immunoassay.
