General Description

D-Valine_H-D-Val-OH_640-68-6

Valine is one of the 20 amino acids that make up protein. Its chemical name is 2-amino-3-methylbutyric acid. It belongs to branched chain amino acid and is also an essential 8 amino acids and glucogenic amino acid for human body. It works with other two high concentration amino acids (isoleucine and leucine) to promote normal growth, repair tissues, regulate blood sugar and provide energy. When participating in intense physical activity, valine can provide extra energy for muscles to produce glucose to prevent muscle weakness. It also helps remove excess nitrogen (potentially toxic) from the liver and transport the body's needed nitrogen to all parts.

Valine is an essential amino acid, which means that the body itself cannot produce it and must be supplemented through dietary sources. Its natural food sources include grains, dairy products, mushrooms, peanuts, soy protein and meat. In addition, D-valine is also present in some actinomycins, such as valinomycin.

D-valine is also widely used in biomedical research, such as inhibiting the growth of fibroblasts and influencing the morphology and function of pulmonary artery endothelial cells. D-valine is also an important chiral drug raw material, such as the synthesis of anti-tumor drugs and anti diabetes and its complications. With the development of D-valine application and market demand, the preparation of D-valine will become one of the hotspots of amino acid research.

D-valine is an important organic chiral source, which is mainly used in the fields of chiral drugs, chiral additives, chiral auxiliaries and so on. As an optically active organic acid, it plays an irreplaceable role in the asymmetric synthesis of some chiral compounds. At present, it is mainly used in the production of new broad-spectrum antibiotics, d-valinol and valine protectants in peptide synthesis.
